I consider this blog a testimony of just one more way the Lord has supplied some of our needs as a family and how he has blessed our lives. I thank God for his many blessings as he loadeth me with benefits daily.

I got my first pair of eyeglasses when I was in 8th grade (it would have been 7th grade, but my parents didn't believe me. true story. if i ever find myself in therapy maybe we'll discuss it) and every few years since then I've gotten a new pair. Even though I did recently go through the chore of picking out a new pair of glasses for myself in a store, I was pretty excited I got to try the process again.. but this time online.

I began to think about our last year and a half and just thinking about what God has done for us. My husband had to file for disability back in October of 2008, His physical conditions that have been addressed over the years consist of both wrist worked on, both knees, both shoulders and has had 5 lower back surgeries and 1 upper back surgery along with a crushed foot when he was 9 years old from being hit by another car while on the back of his dad motorcycle that required 3 surgeries. Needless to say he has had a lot of pain in his life that he has had to deal with.
This past week he had his disability hearing, which the lawyer said went really well but we still have to wait on the official letter stating he has been approved. In the meanwhile it is still a waiting game. Over this past year it seems as if our theme has been BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD. In one of the reviews I chose that exact verse to forever be a reminder of how God has carried us through this last year. When you file for disability you are stating that you cannot work, so you do not and with a truth he cannot. We have lived this last year and a half without any income at all. It is within our nature to try to fix things, when this all began we began to searched for ways to bring in income and with every avenue we search nothing came through. We were backed into a corner where we had to STAND Still! It is not natural to stand still, It is not natural to do anything that God says in his word to do, Our fleshly nature fights it, it is at enmity with God. I have to say that my biggest issue is what others think, but over this last year I have had to divorce myself of others opinions of what our family was going through and just lean on hubby's direction and learn to trust his leadership and lean on God's word. I do not know how many times I heard a message or a song or a verse brought to my attention about standing still. I am so thankful for this trial as hard as it has been. I am thankful for God's promises and how sure they really are. When trials come in our lives it is our nature to want to run, hide, try to figure it all out but let me encourage you today to rest in God's promises and lean on him for comfort through your hard trials in life. Our life is a miracle in the works, every month God sent ways for us to pay our bills, whether through our friends, loved ones or just the knowledge to sell things, or use the resources that are in our society for situtations just like this one. (which some think is wrong to use, and that it is not trusting God) But I think it is only wisdom, just like God gave physicians the wisdom to help us through physical trials he has also set up other systems in our society to help in time of need and I thank God for those programs. God has been so precious to us and I know more about the sweetness of the Lord today than I did a year and half ago. He is real and he is a very present help in time of trouble.
An Update after my 5th Friday Follow. I have kept track of how many new followers I have gotten over the past 5 Friday Follows I have a grand total of 89 new followers with more still to come.
