MY ENTRY ON HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING THIS YEAR!

Every year my third son starts asking if he can put up the tree in October. Last year he managed to get the tree up at the beginning of October but this year we made him wait until the end. He is my Christmas spirit in the house. He would have a tree up all year round if we would let him. He says that when he gets married and has his own place he will have a designated room just for Christmas and it will stay decorated all year round. His poor wifey poo!
This year we have a brand new member of our family. We have a new daughter in law and she is a gift straight from heaven. She is every mothers dream of a daughter in law. She loves my son like a mother always desires her son to be loved.
This year I am not sure we will get to do much Holiday entertaining as my two oldest boys live 800 miles away but we will do our best with the remaining three that are still home. This year we will be doing things a little different, we are trying to save money for a very special event coming up so we will just be spending time together as a family and not really doing gifts this year. The ultimate gift will be the thing we are saving so hard for comes to pass. It will surely be a dream come true.

Trying to get out of the Eighties!

If you were born in the sixties you will understand this post to it fullest. The eighties were the era of "BIG HAIR" OH the bigger the better! I loved seeing how high I could get those bangs, a little teasing and A LOT OF AQUA NET!
Over the past several months I have straightened my hair more than ever and I am beginning to really like it straight. My oldest son just recently got married in July and after raising five children of my own I am now ready for a new era in my life. I know it is good for young couples to have time to get used to each other, but this lady is ready to be a grandma! I have recently been looking at different products for babies since it has been so long since I have priced things for my own children and I came across this awesome car seat that seems like the Cadillac of all car seats. Of course safety is a key element when searching for such a product. Graco is known for their safety status. The highback
element adds more safety to this Graco TurboBooster Car Seat. I am one that does not like to have a ton of things to tug around and I like to get the most for my money, with this car seat not only do you have the high back feature but once the child gets bigger, I will not have to make another investment, I will just have to remove the high back and then I will have a booster seat.

3. You will probably only win a max of 4 times a day, so after that just chill out a bit so you don’t get burnt out.

I have been considering changing my blog, I am the type of person that likes to rearrange things in my life from time to time, somehow it makes me feel like things are in order. Hubby doesn't like it to much when I rearrange furniture as his toes have to pay the price.
Today as I visited my blog I was visited with a little note at the top of my blog announcing that my background was going to disappear on Friday. I assume The cutest site on the block as decided to start charging for their cute lil backgrounds. :0(
even though I understand their decision in the economic times we live in, everybody needs to make a lil extra mulah! but in turn in the economic times we live in, it is also nice to have somethings for free!

Now having said that I have been thinking of changing my blog, today I have been forced into changing it, I do not like when I am forced into something. I do not like to feel rushed, I do not like to feel I am pressured......I panic!
I have had to rearrange my blog and I do not like it now.
I hope over the next little bit that I can find a background that I just love and that my blog will be up and running with cuteness very soon!

It took me a lot of research to figure out how to make them, I had a blog for quite sometime before I had a button and it was frustrating to say the least. I found that traffic increased once I was able to get a button on my blog so that others could take it and post it on their blog.

Smelly Towel Review and Giveaway!

I was sent a container of Smelly Towel Cleaner,
I have to say at first I was a little skeptical at the instructions, they read as follows.
By adding one level cap full approximately 1tsp Guaranteed to eliminate odors.
I am one that loves the smell of laundry detergent and the smell of fabric softener so not
to add either of these to my towels was very difficult for me. But in the spirit of reviewing
this product I forced myself to follow the instructions to the exact point.
What happened next just about floored me!   When I took my towels out of the dryer
I was rather impressed at the smell of my towels.   I purposefully left some towels sit for a day
or so just to get them smelly musty.   I wanted to know if this stuff really worked!
I am thrilled to tell you IT DID!   I love the fact that it took 1 tsp of this detergent and it
made my towels fresh!   My thinking has always been a little bit more must make it better, but
you do not have to go a little bit more with this product.   It is worth every dime!

I was sent one of these Digital keychains to review. It was great timing, My son just got engaged and I was able to upload all of their engagement pictures and carry them everywhere I go. I am a picture nut, I would carry my photo albums everywhere I go just to show off my photography work, but since that is so inconvenient to do so this is the next best thing. I honestly was surprised at how many pictures it held and I love having it hanging on my purse because others always ask, "What is that?" I then say, "Well let me show you what this is." Life has been Crazy!

I have been MIA. It all started about 3 weeks ago. During these last few weeks we have had a Mother/Daughter Banquet and I was able to get my brand new camera, so here are a few shots I have taken with my new camera.

We had to travel to Ok City to pick up our son from college unexpectantly, the young man that was suppose to share ride Zac home came down with Merca Staff infection in his leg so with it being contagious it was better for us to go get him. We spent a couple of days in Ok City and were able to meet several of his college friends specifically the new interest in his life so that was very nice.

We drove back to Ohio through the night 13 hours of being in the car.
On Friday of the same week, I left with my oldest son, brother, mom and dad and daughter and headed for Raleigh, NC, that was another 10 hours in the car. We were able to attend a Rally for a New company that is getting ready to launch and I have been putting a lot of time and effort on this project also.

We were able to attend this awesome conference and learned so much Friday night and all day Sat.

On Sat night we left Raleigh and headed back to Ohio (10 more hours) Later Sunday afternoon we had to drive back to Kentucky (3 more hours) Needless to say it has been a lot of traveling and not much time to blog.
We are headed back to Ohio again Monday and back to Ok City on Wednesday, Zac has to be back to travel with a VBS team for the summer.
I have a few products I have been reviewing and will be offering some giveaways real soon.

On a quick note: My oldest son just got engaged this week. I am very excited about that too and so now we have to try to get everything together for a wedding in about 7 weeks. They have waited for permission from her father to get married and now that the permission has been given there is no stopping them now.

I am a mother of five children. I always wanted a big family (7 to be exact) but when number 5 came along I knew I was done.
I had a peace in my heart that my duties at replenishing the earth had been fulfilled.
Each time I gave birth it was a A Ha moment for me. I loved the moment my babies were born. I also knew what a huge responsibility it was for me as a mother to raise my children the way God intended me to raise them.
My two oldest ones are pretty much on their own now and another huge day for me was the day they walked away from our home and still chose to live the life they were raised to live.
Each child has their own will and they have to make choices for themselves, It is truly an honor when they walk away and believe enough in what they been taught to carry it on.
I have three left at home and I continue to strive to raise them and teach them to be law abiding, Christ honoring, and respectful young adults.
I hope they choose to follow what they are being taught also and I count it a huge privilege to be called their mother.
Happy Mother’s day to each and every mother.
Our job is a huge responsibility that God has given us and I count it a privilege!

I am just so excited when I get an email stating that a company is willing to work with me.

Over this past year and a half we have had a really tight situation with our financial status.

When things are tight there are ways to cut back on spending money, one of those ways has been to go to the cheaper type hair products. I have seen this company around at several of the blogs I visit.   I personally have a house full of men that wear ties some daily and most weekly.   I have a husband that is a Preacher, and 3 Sons that are preparing to also.
My oldest son works in a field that he wears a tie daily to work.   I worked really hard at entering several contests to win one of these ties. Misikko Review and Giveaway ends April 30th, 2010

Needless to say when I received the email from Misikko I was beyond thrilled.   I have been trying to win one of these little flat irons for months.   My girls were very excited when I told them I was going to be doing a review for this company.
I happened to be out of town the day that the Misikko Professional flat iron came in the mail. My girls got right into the box and began their own review of the Misikko Professional flat iron.   I have two daughters and both have very different textures and amounts of hair.
"S" has baby fine hair and it is very thin, "J" had the thickest head of hair I have ever seen on a young lady her age, "J's" hair is also more coarse too.    The thing they did with the Misikko Professional flat iron was they both curled their hair with it, they were rather impressed at the curls that were in their hair and they seemed to hold a lot longer than the traditional curling iron curls.   After I got home from my out of town trip they were anxious to show me what this thing would do.   "J" straightened her hair and I have to say it made my twelve year old look like she is about 20. I am not sure I like that aspect of this product. "S" says the thing she liked about the Misikko Professional flat iron was that it makes your hair feel very smooth almost conditioned rather than the dried out feeling that most flat irons give your hair.

Ok, It was my turn. My review of the Misikko Professional flat iron is this. I was impressed first by the quickness of the company getting the product to our home. I was also impressed by all the bling they sent with the package as you see in the picture above. I am just one of those people that likes bells and whistles listed above. My hair is normally easy to work with, but being a teenager from the era of the 80's I have had a hard time making the transition to the straight hair look.   I have come a long way but this has been a hard and long transition for me. I straightened my hair and my girls say it looks awesome and that they like it straight but me personally I like the little bit of curl in the ends or that little bit of body in my hair rather than that flat straight look.
I liked how it made my hair feel, but I have yet to master the ability to get my hair to flip up on the ends with this iron, but my hair is rather long so it is harder to get that flip anyway.    I stand amazed at what my daughters can do with it, but I am still working at it.
It is just one of those young people things that seems to just come natural to them cause they have worked with flat irons longer than us older folks have.   I can roll a mean curl and tease the heck out of your hair and my girls just roll their eyes, but with time and practice I am sure I too can master this Misikko Professional flat iron.
I do like the way it feels like it conditions my hair and I love what my daughter's hair looks like when they use this flat iron. I am very grateful Misikko gave me the opportunity to review this flat iron and I am overall satisfied with the quality and performance of this product.

I have been involved in Friday Follow almost every week since it has started, I have met so many awesome fellow bloggers. I have enjoyed getting to know a few of them. This morning I had an email in my inbox from a blogger that stopped by and joined my site. She left a really nice comment and so I hopped over to follow her and to meet her. I was rather impressed with her blog and I found this post that she so graciously aloud me to borrow and post on my blog. I have been searching for this exact recipe to make my own chocolate suckers and "BAM" there it is on her blog. A couple of years ago a Christian school in the area we lived in made these and sold them.....OH, I have craved these suckers since that time.

Ms. Barbara from Santa's Gift Shoppe & Ideas is getting an Etsy Shop together and wants to start her own "My Creative Space Monday Linky Party" on her site. She is also hoping to have her own link party on April 12th,2010 at her site.

Fast/Easy Chocolate or (White Chocolate) Bunny or Egg Lollipops for EASTER!

EASTER is Coming!!!! I love Easter with
the birth of all the new flowers & beauty all around..
& Spring is so tranquil..I feel like I've taken
myself into a field of flowers or commercial or
something...I love the Rebirth of everything..&
especially the Spiritual aspect of Easter.

Easter also brings back so many fond memories
of new white or Black Patent Leather shoes, a little
matching purse, bow in our hair & oh yes...Let's
not forget that White hat with pink ribbon..we have
many photos my dad took to keep that very
memorable.

Does that sound like anybody elses childhood Easter
Sunday??? Going to church, Finding our Easter
Baskets, Ham Dinner with all the extras??? Sound
familiar??? Getting hungry for mom's cooking??

Our family still does all that but little girls/boys
do grow up all too fast..I have to admit I love for
my grown kids to come home to find Mr. Easter
Bunny has indeed come & left not as much candy
but maybe earrings, or book or some surprise in
Easter Baskets for them.

I love the family ties & gatherings...even if both
of my parents are gone..I still try to keep the
traditions alive & well.

Anyway..Sorry about that..I got distracted with
fond memories..Back to the chocolate bunnies...
I had promised my husband that I would have 35
Chocolate bunnies for his students in his class the
last day of school before Easter Vacation. I had
been gone with responsibilities all day..I started
the lollipops around 11:30pm. They really are very
Fast/Easy to do & turn out really cute & fun..

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
For Basket
1 basket
1 piece of oasis foam
thin gage florist type wire or tape
wire cutters
1 pkg. of iridescent grass
a couple (2 or 3) of colors of curling ribbon
scissors

For Chocolate/White Chocolate Lollipops
1 candy mold (I used bunnies, eggs, & tulip mold)
1 Bag of candy melts (a bag will usually do I think
around 25-35 maybe more depending on the size
of each mold)
1 bag of (50)lollipop sticks (Walmart or Michaels)
1bag of (50) lollipop bags (Walmart or Michaels)
aluminum foil
med. microwave-safe bowl
teaspoon to stir & put melted candy into molds
Oh..Another thing..I used what I had on hand.
This is how I did the Basket..
DIRECTIONS FOR BASKET:
1) Found basket I could use..Found some old
already used (but recyclable) Oasis Floral Foam.
Took some wire (thin gage florist type..Walmart or
Michaels have) & made it so the wire secured the
foam, cut it with wire cutters & twisted until tight.
It's hard to see but that's what I did. You could
secure it tightly with florist tape (I didn't have any)
& wrap it through the holes of the basket.
SEE BELOW:

2) Arrange irridescent easter grass on top & sides

of foam (I didn't even need to secure it. It worked

out just fine. The lollipops will keep it pretty much

in place. (I cut off old ribbon with wire cutters)

This is how I did the lollipops.

DIRECTIONS FOR LOLLIPOPS:

1) Gather supplies together..SEE BELOW:

2) Pour 1/2 bag of candy melts into microwave-

safe bowl. Microwave on full power for 45 sec.

(My microwave is 1100 watts & this works fine

for me..you may have to fine tune your own time

& your wattage maybe different than mine..just

keep checking it & stirring it & it should be fine)
Keep stirring & checking very 15-20sec. (if it's on

high) until melted. You might feel safer having it

on 50% power & checking every 30sec. or so. Do

the same with rest of candy melts (depending on

how many you need)

SEE BELOW:

3) Take a clean candy mold & with a teaspoon

fill each bunny, tulip, (whatever) with chocolate

or white chocolate (not overflowing)

4) Lay lollipop stick (inside slot provided in mold

going into the melted candy) & twist til stick is

covered with melted chocolate. You would be wise

to add a dollop of chocolate on top of that place where

you twisted the stick to make sure it is secure &

it will stay in much better. After it cools & hardens..

it will be very secure.SEE BELOW:

5) Place in refigerator or freezer for a short time

(try 10-15 min.) & keep checking them until they

"harden." Then take out of freezer or refrigerator

(I like the freezer best because it's way faster)

& turn them over & "pop" them out on to a piece

of foil. Believe it or not they do not need anything

like Pam or spray or anything to help them pop out.

I have used these again & again & have never had

any problem with them not popping out of their

molds.The detail is amazingly clear on them.

SEE BELOW:

6) I like to put mine in one of the lollipop bags

(they are the perfect size) & tie some curling ribbon

around the stick to secure bag in place.

7) Curl ribbon with scissors edge & your thumb.
(Careful not to hurt yourself)SEE BELOW:

8) Stick each one in the oasis in the basket &

look at them...They look like a little bunch of

bunnies in an egg field or bunny & egg patch..

(like Linus'...pumkin patch in Charlie Brown)

I wanted to do something a little different tonight, I tried to video tape my drawing and I was very pleased with the video and did it on the first take, but once I was done and tried to get it uploaded to my blog, now that was a totally different story.
